The binding on my Half Square Strings is done and that makes 7 UFO finishes this year! I still have to sew a HeartStrings label to the back but I’ll get that done today.
These string quilts are just so gorgeous, Mary. And it must feel so good to get so many UFOs finished. I can see you’re going to make me feel guilty if I don’t get cracking on finishing up some of mine!
I just love this quilt, even though I don’t use bright colours in my own quilts. This is so cheerful, and beautifully made too. You did a great job on this quilt.
That looks great! I love how some of the strings are wonky – when they go to a point on the edge of the block, they give a nice spiky look to the block.
This is so bright and fun! When you do these with half square triangles and strings, do you piece string onto one side only with the bright as the foundation or do you piece a string block and then layer it with a whole bright square, sew the diagonals and end up with two blocks? Do you understand what I’m asking?
