A few more blocks
I’m not getting much done this week and I leave tomorrow to visit my Mom in VA. I’ll be gone 10 days. I have added 8 more blocks to the Patriotic String Star QOV quilt but this is a terrible picture. The lighting was bad in the room and the flash makes it look like there’s a lot more contrast in the darker blues than there actually is.
Can you see my *error*? I deviated from the pattern accidentally and didn’t realize it at first. I made several variations of this pattern and had intended to work with this one.
I’m really liking this quilt and wish I was going to be able to finish the blocks before going out of town but that definitely won’t happen.
As I was sewing strings this afternoon, I realized this quilt would work well with half square triangles too.

can’t see an error in your stitching…..is it because,you wanted the strips to not match up properly? that’s the only difference I can see from your original pattern.
either way, this quilt is going to look terrific, and you can always make a second quilt with the “way you originally wanted it to look”

It looks great to me! Inspired me to dig through strips this weekend to see if I’ve got enough cut in those colors. Don’t think so, but it will give me a goal to work toward.
