Sometimes when I post photos of a quilt in progress too many times, I worry that people will get tired of seeing it. But the truth is that quilting is a Process. We have gotten so used to Quilts-in-a-day that we sometimes forget that it can take time to make a quilt–thinking it through as you go, putting it together, working and re-working it, getting those stitches in there. In the Olden Days a quilt could take years of work! I personally am enjoying watching as you go through the process of putting this one together.
I'm not tired of it at all. I think Susan made very good points about the speed of things today. I am enjoying watching this one evolve and will still be doing so when you are putting the last stitch in the binding.
I love seeing how and where others work. It inspires me. Mary, I always find your quilts to be so artistic and traditional at the same time. I don't tire of them at all.
No – not tired of it, but thanks for bringing up the subject, which now brings up 'process' … a quilt is made up of steps, adjustments, changes, efforts, progression (fast or slow progression). As quilters, we've all been there, delighting in newness that might appear, dreading the errors, and taking joy in the various steps along the way. (I shoulda just said "same as Susan above!) LOL
Love these blocks, Mary, so you can't ever overdo the photos! BTW, did you ever mention a link to the pattern for the blocks? I think this one has to go in my queue…
BTW, my Kindle arrived yesterday…woo-hoo! I'm in love!
Gee Mary, why would we get tired of lovely quilt blocks/quilts unfolding as you go along. I'm a bit behind on my blog reading but I whole heartedly agree with your process especially where you say you never cut a whole quilt at one time. Me too! I have actually for a mystery or three but for the most part I cut a little, piece a little, cut a little… I think I get bored so have to move on. Probably is why I have many projects available to work on. Get tired of one, move to another! Bonnie in the Poconos.
