Finished

Pieced by Cheryl and already shipped to Jay along with 3 other quilts for his Nursing Home project.

I finished the binding the other night but had to repair a couple seams that worked loose when I washed the quilt. I thought I could use an applique type stitch that wouldn’t be seen but the gap and fraying were too much so I had to do a narrow zigzag to make sure the seam was secure.  It’s not noticeable looking at the overall quilt so I think it will be fine.

I also got the 2nd quilt from yesterday trimmed and the binding made and machine stitched. If I feel up to it I’ll work on stitching it down but I have another killer headache so we’ll see.

  • Gosh this is a really delightful, happy quilt!

  • Really pretty quilt.

  • Very pretty quilt – love the blue/yello combo and the fussy cutting! 8-)) Someone will love it.

The quilt is great, I love Ohio stars, one of my favorite. I hope your headache goes away. I get migraines brought on, sometimes, by weather changes. I get nervous when cold fronts move through.

Great quilt! Love it! Bet someone in a nursing home will too.

What a cheerful quilt. That will surely brighten someones day.

  • How lovely and cheerful this quilt is.

  • What a bright fun quilt! Isn’t it fun–even with some fray outs to just feel the warmth of the quilt after washing. I love the way they puff up. You are really cranking them out!

  • The narrow border around the main quilt top makes everything just pop. Nice Job!

Mary, What do you mean by washing the quilt before mailing? Everyone does something different, but I am always looking for great hints/techniques. I like knowing that everything will stay together so I generally wash a quilt if it is one that I have made, but when I quilt for someone else I am more hesitant. Maybe your method is one that I would like to try.

Since I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, now, I find many of your observations and photos to be things that I have or want to experience, as well. Because my husband is in the Navy I have also lived in many of the places you go to visit, so thanks for rekindling fond memories. Keep up the great work.

The blue – yellow to me has a bit of a French Country feel that I adore-such wonderful colors ..yum
