Diamond strings
Top pieced by Pat and quilted with the pantograph Blowing Leaves by Dave Hudson. Pat participated in our HeartStrings Diamond Strings project – she chose to make fewer blocks and add borders unlike my top that uses more blocks and no borders. Instructions for both can be found at my MaryQuilts.com site.
A close-up of the quilting on the back.
And here’s a full view of the pieced back — one of many sent to me by Tish for HeartStrings quilts.

BEAUTIFUL..love the quilting pattern and pieced back to go along with the top!!
I think the leaves are a good match with the sunflower print and fall-ish brown border. And the quilting really shows up beautifully on that pieced back too! Cheers! Evelyn
Beautiful, thanks for showing it to us.
Whoops! I responded on your other posting. But, I love how this turned out. Thank you!
The leaf quilting is so lovely (sigh) — it looks so “touchable”, I could almost reach through the computer screen. The pieced back looks nice, too. Pieced backs add something special to a quilt and make it unique. Thanks for sharing your pretty work.
Oh Mary, you know I’ve been dreaming of doing a diamond string every since my mother visited (that would be Sept) but I’m glad I didn’t start because I like the Diamonds in BLACK! I’m smitten.
