Dazed and uncomfortable

Poor baby, he’s not feeling very well tonight and he’s still half dazed from the anesthesia but I’m sure he’ll feel better in the next day or two. I appreciate the comments and emails – I am always anxious and upset until he is home.

On a quilty note, one other task I finished today was the edging on this simple postcard. It’s doing double duty this month — going to my cousin’s daughter for our family exchange and it’s my interpretation of Vicki’s theme for November. I’m thankful for SO many things and certainly this isn’t the most important but Keith and I were just talking this weekend how thankful we are for changing SEASONS. Although this card just depicts fall, having 4 distinct seasons is one of the things we love best about Minnesota.

  • Poor baby! He looks so pitiful! Let that be a lesson about cutting his hair again. He’s meant to be a puff ball. LOL!

    Very nice postcard too!

Poor puppy….. an owie and a cone…. wishing him a speedy recovery

  • Poor Chesty, looks like he needs a few days of quiet time. Our little Rylie just had her ‘little operation’ and it’s surprising how quickly they spring back..I hope Chesty is feeling better in a couple of days.
    Take care!

  • Oh…. poor guy. He’ll be up and running around in no time!

  • Joan:

Poor baby! And he’s probably wondering what happened. Where did this stupid cone come from? Hopefully he’ll be back to his old self in no time. The post card is lovely. The leaves look metallic which make it look very classy. Have a great Thanksgivng, we all have a lot to be thankful for.

  • Debbie:

oh, that poor little thing. He’s a conehead! I’m sure he will be more like himself in a couple days.

Great postcard. I love those tiny little works of art.

  • Ruth:

Poor little mite. Hope he’s feeling back to himself soon.

    Love the postcard.

  • Poor thing – they never like those awful cones!!

  • Flatlander (Linda):

Glad that’s over with … now on to the recovery stage and springing back to his old self! Extra pets and loving are the order of the day!!

  • Diane:

I’m glad Chesty is home. After our dogs have had any operations, I would feel so bad that they seemed so confused when we got them home. Then the next day or so they’d be running around making up for lost play-time it would seem; and I would wish they’d still have a little anesthesia in them to calm ‘em down a bit. It’s always amazing to me how quickly dog bodies heal. Give him a little scratch behind the ears for me!
Your postcard is cool. Paul and I have the same conversations, we love the 4 seasons of PA!

  • I am so glad to see he is home. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon. Love the postcard.

  • So glad that Chesty came through the surgery okay. He looks so sleepy, poor little guy. Sure seems that he has been through a lot lately.

I to am very grateful to live where there is four distinct seasons.

Are the boys coming home for Thanksgiving?

  • Denise in PA:

So glad to hear Chesty only had to have the minimum! I feel so sorry for him in his cone – but I know they are important. I’m sure he’ll bounce back and I know he’ll be getting lots of love and cuddles.

I, too, love the all the seasons and am happy to live in a part of the country where we do experience all four. Fall is my favorite though!

  • Marilyn:

He does look pitiful……poor little thing. A couple days rest and I’m sure he
    will be back to himiself.

I enjoy the change of seasons too, but winter sometimes is a little bit
    long here in Michigan.

  • I am so sorry, Mary…and glad your baby is home. He is such a little doll, hope he is well soon.

  • Poor little baby! Hope he’s feeling back to his ol’ self real soon. Maybe a nice familiar quilt to snuggle under would help along the recovery. Have a great Thanksgiving Mary!!

  • Susan D:

Glad to hear that Chesty is home safe and sound. Now you can sew and quilt in a relaxed manner– and that little postcard is very pretty. Nice work, as always.

  • This just breaks my heart. Poor baby!

  • Linda:

I bet Chesty feels better just being home in his own bed too. Even with the silly cone thing he has to wear. He’s just such a little sweetie.

  • Just in case you don’t check your email as often as you do your blog, I sent an email to your gmail listed above!!!

I really hope your doggie feels better soon :)

  • See, I was afraid this was going to happen. I should have made a note. Well, it’s not about me, it’s about Chesty. Just please allow me to apologize for missing this very important event. I so completely understand the emotions involved in an event like this my friend. I understand the process of healing and know you’re giving him the best care possible. Much love to you BOTH. *karendianne.

  • Liebe Genesungsgrüße für Chesty .Armer kleiner hund, hoffentlich geht es Dir bald wieder gut.

  • Evelyn:

I like the changing of the season’s too – I often wonder how people with no seasons keep track of time? Glad to see that Chesty is home – I know you feel better when you are able to keep an eye on him! Cheers! Evelyn

  • Tanya:

POOR CHESTY! I hope he can get his collar off soon and will be able to nestle in your arms. You may not get much quilting done with all the comforting he’s going to want!
