I took over the living room again

I decided to set the table up tonight to give me a surface for working on my Applecore blocks.

The snow continues to come down and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get Chesty to the Vet tomorrow. You know I don’t do well driving in snow and so far I haven’t heard the snowplows out yet – usually you can hear the beeping all night. Now it’s time for bed so I can get up in the morning.

  • a true winter wonderland. we were at the beach this morning, it is hot, hot, hot here!

  • Susan D:

The 2nd picture is just gorgeous. Like something out of a magazine, or a Christmas card– a ‘Norman Rockwell’ type picture. Lovely yes, until you think about driving in it, I suppose. I can say how lovely it all is because it doesn’t snow at all where I live.

  • Marilyn:

I have to admit that is a beautiful sight…enough to make me want to put up my tree.
    Hope the plows come !!!!

  • Dawn:

Are you in the path of that huge storm we are hearing so much about?? It is going to hit us around noon and bring rain mixed with snow and cold cold cold temps. Stay warm my friend!!

Love your Applecore quilt blocks Mary. It’s going to be fun to quilt! Your snow picture is beautiful. We don’t have snow where we live unless it’s a fluke of nature. Although if it was raining here in Santa Rosa, CA. right now, it could turn into snowflakes as it’s down to 26 degrees this a.m. Frozen bird bath and fountain. Brrrr—-Hope the snow plow comes through and that Chesty is doing great.

  • My best to you and Chesty…out in the weather and traffic today! I hope the roads are cleared and safe. (I bet though, that you would know how to take the stitches out in a pinch.)

What a beautiful setting you photographed, Mary. As dangerous as a winter storm can be, there is such beauty in it all, isn’t there!

Just reschedule…….further south (Owatonna), nothing is moving! I’m glad those that live in warm places can appreciate the beauty of the snow. LOL Love the Apple Core….working on a Grandmother’s Flower Garden myself for the winter, only 50 more blocks to go.

    Here’s to a SNOW DAY!

Your neighborhood is so pretty all covered in snow. I don’t mind the snow but do we REALLY have to have it so cold & windy???

  • the snow and the lights remind me of when I was a kid living in the midwest — thanks for sharing!
    oh, love your fabrics, too!

  • Flatlander (Linda):

I also purchased the Apple Core die for the “GO” cutter, Mary. Looking at your pictures has me tempted to hand piece a top as well. Working full-time right now so it would enable me to have some handwork to do over lunch hours. We’re just on the “edge” of the storm so might not get more than a dusting of snow here in Pittsburgh but it’s not even officially winter yet and I’m certain we’ll get our fair share. Travel safe if you have to venture out!
