So proud of myself
I didn’t want to delay Chesty’s appointment because he’s already a couple days late due to scheduling challenges and my travel and I was afraid the stitches would hurt coming out if they were too overgrown. If Keith had been home to hold him, I probably would have taken them out myself!
The plows came through last night around 2AM but it continued to snow so the roads were messy but I drove slow and I made it to the University and back safely and then promptly bundled up and walked over to the coffee shop. It was minus 10 with wind chill ( and it’s windy!) but I’d rather walk than drive.
The sun tried to come out for a minute but it was a losing battle.
A few other photos from my walk.

Beautiful pictures! We got lots of rain, but my husband is in Green Bay, WI and got snowed in…couldn’t make it back to Chicago today. My son is getting 10″ in Vermont and can’t wait to hit the slopes this weekend!
we’ve had rain, hail then the sun came out. We must be at the edge of it, whatever it is! Snow is forcasted for tonight but it’s so windy I think it’s going to blow right through.
Good for you taking Chesty to vet’s! I used to be so afraid to go out in snow. I have a Jeep now and it goes anywhere. I still stay home if I can, but if I have to I’m no longer worried. It’s more the other drivers you have to watch out for.
The snow is beautiful. Really hope we get some here.
Mary, I’m used to driving on snow/ice, don’t like it, but slow is the only way to go. Lincoln got about 10 inches, this is/was a nasty blizzard, worse I’ve seen for several years. Anyone living in rural areas will be digging out for a while. Here in the city, piles of snow at the corners, can’t see over them or around them. No signs of a warm up either, so no melting … only 7 at noon time today.
Thank heavens everything went well for you and Chesty. Empowering, yes?! And I will definitely agree with you and the walking! If I could, I’d walk everywhere. Sitting in a cold car is so not fun. Not to mention worrying about everyone else’s driving skills…or lack thereof.
Hope you’re safe and sound and snuggled in for the evening.
Ooh, way cold!! It was 73 here when I woke up this morning and a beautiful sunshiney day. I wish I could say that was normal for winter here but, no, it was a little warmer than the 45 we had just last week. HA!
Brrrrrr – stay warm!
Chesty will be happy to have that cone off! Glad that you could make it to the vet and back safely with him. Driving in the snow is no fun! Be sure you have good winter tires on in case there is a next time. Cheers! Evelyn
Chesty must be happy to have his stitches out….
I always enjoy it when you post pics of where you live. It’s so beautiful and yes, I do LOVE snow pics..,,,probably has something to do with living Down Under!
I love seeing you enjoy the weather in Minneapolis. Keep showing the snow pictures. I was born and raised in Mpls and now live in Sunny So California. I kind of miss the “weather”.
