What a big mess for a little leak

I hate textured ceilings … it makes even small repairs complicated.

The contractor was late this morning and didn’t finish (although I had a feeling he wouldn’t get done in one day anyway). So this is what my living room looks like and will look like all weekend and until he finishes Monday.

And of course, the other side of the *curtain* is a mess but at least I can sit in my chair!

But what I need to do is go back upstairs and work on the rail fence blocks.

  • oh dear…..uggh. I hope Chesty stays out of things.

  • Chris:

That doesn’t look like fun! I also noticed the card on the table…is that from Samantha?

  • It is SUCH a pain to get things fixed around the house. Just a major interruption with the daily living stuff. How’s Chesty dealing with all the upheaval? I like the rail fence..so simply yet very pretty!

  • I really like the rail fence quilt, can’t wait to see it when you are completed! Hope they get all the work done before Christmas.

  • Lisa:

That’s a LOT of plastic for a small patch – wow! Good luck!

  • debra:

lol, that’s kinda creepy. I know, not so funny for you. I’m loving your new quilt!

  • we went thru some repair stuff a couple of months ago,,, foundation issues and they had to go thru the slab in our bedroom!! I feel for you!
oh, some more of that lovely black, white, and green! gotta get me some..

  • Dawn:

Oh Mary!! They won’t finish until Monday?? Okay, here is what you do…..do not……under any circumstances look at it. Just pretend that all that messiness isn’t there. :) It’s what I do!! If that doesn’t work then you can do another thing I do when faced with a mess….hide. Yup. hahahahaha Or you can go to Barnes and Noble and buy yourself a book.
    hugs girl!!!

  • YIKES! Looks expensive and what a pain…and at this time of year too!
How is Chesty handling all this? You poor thing…at least the sewing room is upstairs and out of the mess!
    Take care!

  • Yuk about the mess! But love the colours of that rail fence!

  • The only positive that I can see in all the mess is that it’ll be good when it’s finished!

Your rail fences are looking great.

  • I do love that rail fence is really cute and you know what? I once saw in a show how effective all that plastic can be when you want to shoot people and clean up the mess easily. It was either The Soprano’s or Law and Order… or… hmmm. I watch too many shows like that. hee!

  • Debbie:

This is not the best time of the year for construction work but things have to get fixed. I must tell you that I love that rail fence. The greens are really eye catching.

  • That does not look like any fun at all… Hope they get it done quickly!

    Another quilt in my colors….

  • Evelyn:

Never let a contractor start a job on a Friday! I never let my husband do anything Sat. afternoon because then the hardware store is closed until Monday and he usually makes things worse before they are better. At least you have a dust cover and still a space to sit! Cheers! Evelyn
