A walk in the snow

We walked downtown early this morning for breakfast – walking in the snow definitely makes me feel more festive. (All of the photos will enlarge if you click on them)

  • Everything looks so pretty and white. We have bright blue skies and temps in the 50′s. Our Christmas temps sometimes hit the 60′s and 70′s!! This is Christmas on the Gulf Coast!!

  • Great pictures! I love snow pictures. Thanks for sharing. We have gray skies and rain here in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Marilyn:

The pictures certainly are beautiful, they even made me feel festive.
My favorite is the birds on the branch, how did you ever capture
that? It would be beautiful in a frame , so peaceful. Hope that
you and Keith enjoyed your breakfast……sounds like a great
    way to start the day.

  • Angie:

We loved looking at the pictures. Thanks Mary.

  • Very pretty! I love the one on the bottom on the left.

  • Evelyn:

Yikes! Where are your mittens?? Snowy here too – brought my son to the park for a fun time of sledding this morning! I even wore my ski pants to stay extra warm. Cheers! Evelyn

  • That is exactly what I thought — where are your gloves, girl?! Weren’t you frozen? Nice rosy cheeks, though. :) We’re having snow here, too. My little one had a great time helping to shovel the driveway — she really thinks it’s fun!

  • I’m the 3rd to be thinking…WHERE ARE YOUR GLOVES!! HA My hands’d be WORSE than ice cubes and would take forever to warm up. I like looking at the snow in OTHER places, not here! LOL

  • DianeY:

Your pictures are beautiful, but I can’t imagine venturing out in that! We are having a little rain today here in Hawaii & I don’t even want to go out in it-and it isn’t really cold even!

  • Debbie:

I guess I’m the 4th wondering where your gloves/mittens are! Thanks for sharing your pictures. It is so funny to see robins in the winter. I grew up thinking that they went south or something but in the last four years I’ve seen flocks of them every February. I’ve learned they only go into the woods to winter. In NH, where I am, we only received about an inch or two of powder. We were fortunate to be spared from the blizzard.

  • Laurie:

Did those robins forget to fly south for the winter? LOL…they look so cold! Great pics Mary!

  • Okay, I’ll be the only one who doesn’t ask about your gloves. I don’t like wearing gloves, I’d rather be a little chilly than the feel of gloves that make my hands way too warm. You must certainly like the snow. I’d rather be with Paula on the Gulf Coast than in snow. Your photo of the robin is great, it looks like it should be on a greeting card.

  • Linda:

Neat pictures! Not only the snow, but the achitecture of the bridges and fences, branches, etc., all composed together to make such interesting photos.

Gloves, yeah! I even get them out in our mid-40degree weather here. Rarely do I see anyone else wearing them, though.

Those photos would make a great collage, as well as framed individually. You know, I’m thinking that some of your city/state organizations might be interested in those photos. Maybe make a sale there.

  • Love the pictures, your neighborhood looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to get our first snowfall here in Missouri. They are calling for it on Christmas Day, but I think they are just trying to get our hopes up! Merry Christmas!

  • Susan D:

Beautiful! The starkness of the snowy landscape looks so peaceful and serene. Quiet. But definately quilting weather!

  • Lisa:

Pretty! How much snow have you gotten?

  • JoAnne in Keller, TX:

Loved the birds also. Great photos.

  • Alison:

I love snow, we’ve got a little here in the UK, but not as much as you guys! I also like your gallery layout, is this a WordPress addin? I’m thinking of moving my blog to WordPress, this is the kind of thing that might convince me to have more of a play over christmas!
