Eat your Leftovers is done
How’s that for a quilt name? Doesn’t all the green remind you of vegetables? Spinach maybe?
I worked on and off all night to finish this top and I think I might even like it better than the Boxed Squares.
Keith even liked it and he doesn’t like most of my quilts — they’re usually too scrappy for him.

Like the name (s). Leftovers. Or the Spinach quilt. Really nice quilt.
I love it….
Now that’s an interesting name!
Great job… often the left overs taste better than the original dish!
That is a mighty fine quilt! Now wrap it up quick and give it to Keith for a Christmas present!
I love it, but then green is my favourite colour!
Fabulous. I made a green quilt once that was the ugliest thing – you done good, girl. I love the red accent – it’s just enough.
The addition of the red was perfect!
I do like it! Love the red with it. With all the green and the bit of red, it just doesn’t seem overly scrappy to me. I understand Keith’s thinking. While I love scrap quilts, I have a hard time making them but I could make this one!
This one could be called “controlled scrappy.” I like it.
Love this quilt, especially with the little peeks of red in it. Thanks also for the photos on how you did that – something to use later! Love the name too, makes me grin!
As usual…gorgeous!! Where do you find the time!! You continue to amaze me!
Paulette
very nice. Looks like spinach lasagna
I love all the quilts you’ve been working on. I usually make very scrappy quilts and your controlled colour quilts are lovely and don’t even look like they were made from scraps. They’ve given me some good ideas for new quilts to make and donate.

Yes, the red definitely gives the eye a resting place and enhances the top. Nice job!
That’s a catchy name. It does kind of look like spinach. Sort of. I really like the peeks of red and the little red border. It’s a nice touch.
I love it! The name is so cute too. Usually that’s my favorite part of making a new quilt – naming it. Usually comes first! Real cute Mary! Jenn
Yes, I use my leftovers, too. Although, my quilts do not look as good as yours. This is a great use of your leftovers.
Awesome job Mary! I haven’t seen too many quilts that are predominantly green that I like but I love yours. I like the black and green fabrics together and I think you picked the perfect pattern to show off your fabrics. If Keith doesn’t want it for Christmas, you can send it my way
) Merry Christmas to you and yours and may your holiday season be filled with love and joy.
Ah Mary, you visited me and here I am after such a long time of not seeing how you are doing on your “new ” blog.
You know, it’s because of you that I even do strippies. If you remember 2 years ago when I first started your blog inspired me to try this craft. I learned so much that first year or so.
But as all babies do when they learn to walk, I am now on the running mode of quilting.
I do amazing corners, those strippies are so fun and my grandkids will just love them I know. You taught me so much.
Merry Christmas . Nanci
WHAT?!! TOO SCRAPPY?! Oh man, I didn’t think there was such a thing as too scrappy but I guess there COULD be! I love the scrappy quilts though and your’s are always so pretty. You even got me started on a fall string quilt.
I love the way the red border pulls it all together. It’s a great quilt and a great name.
Super cute. I love the red frame.
You’ve done it again! Another wonderful quilt. I’d say that those leftovers make a fully balanced “meal.”
you need to enlighten that man on scrappiness ( is that even a word ?).. this is great, and the red is just wonderful!
I was just laughing at Pat’s comment about a fully balanced meal,, I told my grandson that yesterday
white for starches, green for vegetables, red for meat,, hhmm,, what would the black be??
anyway,, wonderful ideas!!
Happy Holidays
and you can keep the snow,, we have 60+ degrees here in Dallas
Looks great! Good for you! Thanks for sharing…
Too Scrappy – at least he has a rationale…
I love it! &It does have a spinach-y look.
Guess who bought a can of spinach for the baby? I can’t even think of what that will look/taste like. (I may just dump it into my bean & spinach soup…)
love, Love, LOVE it, Mary! Merry Christmas.
Love it Mary! and the quilting on the others too. You do great work! Merry Christmas!
