Snow day!
I had lunch plans but my date canceled on me and I didn’t get a bit of work done today (yet) because I’ve either been sitting by the fire reading or on the phone….mostly on the phone but at least it snowed!
Adam and Lindsey have picked a day in March and they’ll be having a very small family wedding. I guess I’d better get to work finishing the quilt they’ve chosen.
Chesty prefers being by the fire to being out in the snow.

I’m with Chesty–gimme the fire any day! You get way more done than most 4-5 peeps put together. A day off by the fire with a book or phone is a good thing!
Chesty surely matches the snow nicely! Speck starts shaking and shivering as soon as I put the leash on him. All day I’ve wanted to go sit and knit but I’ve been sewing. Hope you get some sewing done! Yes, get that quilt finished for Adam & Lindsey.
Congrats on the wedding…
And Chesty is a smart boy…I’ll take the fire too. In fact it’s so freaking cold here that ours has been on almost non stop since we got back from New Orleans.
I’m with Chesty, too. I love my fire: snow, not so much. Cold, not so much, either.
Hi Mary, I just wanted to thank you for your blog and your inspiration. I’ve been working on string quilts since last aug.Between you and Bonnie Hunter, I’ve been pretty busy. Just going to put together the border for another String X and I experimented with your rectangle blocks that make such nice diamonds. That definately will be made larger as it is so pretty.
I agree with your post about how small is too small a scrap to keep and use anymore. I have to let go of the guilt and throw those little pieces away!!
Poor Chesty–he needs longer legs! I took Ruby out earlier and for a former outside dog, she came in and LIMPED! Her TOES were cold! LOL Other than to go to the mailbox tonight, I haven’t been out except to take pictures of the snow (from the deck) and take Ruby out (also from the deck!)
Sounds like a relaxing day. Chesty is so darn adorable. I don’t blame him a bit. Being that low to the ground has to be extra cold.
Small weddings are very nice in my book. James & Dani have picked the Saturday of Labor Day weekend which sounds like a travel nightmare for anyone coming from a distance…sigh.
It snowed here in Georgia also. Max and Chula definitely do not want to go outside.
YOu could do with little doggy wellie boots.
Poor Chesty! Snow up to his tummy! I’d stick by the fire too if I were him! Best of luck on the upcoming wedding for Adam. Are you working on a wedding quilt and a baby quilt? Have they found out if it’s a boy or girl? Can’t wait to see pics of each! Stay warm!
Jenn
I’m with Chesty here – fires are much better than snow!
