9 Patches still on my mind
How about a Twisted version?
Norma linked to Gail’s quilt which is very much like an EQ version I was working with but I had a 9 patch in the sashing and thought it was too busy. Keeping the rail fence and using a solid block like Gail’s is much more to my liking.
I love suggestions that allow me to tweak something I’m working on and making it better!
Anyone else have a favorite 9 patch? I’m saving links and might just do more than one of these quilts. I knew I’d just recently seen another 9 patch & hourglass setting when Kathy linked to hers but couldn’t remember where — well it was Laura’s Christmas 9 Patch.
If you ever want to go back and look at one my my EQ drawings I’ve shared here you can click on the Quilt Designs link in the sidebar under Just Quilting.

oooooo . . . I like that version the best!
I love coming here & seeing your latest endeavours! I think 9 patches are my favourites.
Randi has been working on a 9 patch and rail fence quilt.

My favorite 9 patch is a double nine patch

A nine patch also looks great with a snowball block.
I was going to write the exact same comment that Paula posted until I saw hers LOL. My hands down favorite is the twisted version. Way too cute! But as you said, you will probably have enough blocks to make a couple of quilts, so you won’t have to pick just one design
.
Yes, make that one too!
I like the modern take on this version. As always, thanks for sharing and also sharing links.
When you scroll down, it looks like the nine-patches are animated! Kind of dancing~
I like this one…. but I liked the others too.
This is definitely the one. I love using a twist and turn setting in a variety of different blocks.
I love playing with 9 patches so all of your designs are great. Have a look at Bonnie Hunter’s 9-patch zig-zag version (http://www.quiltville.com/leadersenders.shtml), which makes another interesting alternative.
This one ( http://gypsyquilterdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/05/2230-pieces.html) is still my favorite. Can’t recall where I got the idea, but it sure used up a lot of pieces. Have fun designing!
I really like this one! My son is just about big enough to be out of his crib and I was going to make him a quilt. I might have to do something like this.
This one!
I really love this one, so striking.
ohhh… this is fun and quit interesting!
What about setting them on point in a streak of lighting setting. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eidvs80_01o/ScZfs_rYFfI/AAAAAAAAIpc/VEFVCz_I7LU/s1600-h/quilt2.jpg
I could not find one done in a nine patch, but basically where the brights are in this quilt would be your nine patches. Its really easy peasy to put together. I have made several like this, as you know nine patches are my weakness….
Yes, That is the one I like best too, it has a lot of movement which makes it interesting. Never thought of doing it like that. Thanks for sharing wiht us.
Now I LIKE that twisted version–such liveliness and movement in it!
Love it.
This looks like great fun…try it and let us know
I really like this version – I may have to try one myself! The others were nice too, but this one just sings.
