I’ve done nothing today

So I thought I’d just share this EQ drawing of the Twisted 9 patch that I recolored so I could calculate how much fabric I was using. Doesn’t it look kind of interesting?

twisted 9 patch - yardage

Today was one of those days I had good intentions but never actually did any sewing. I also didn’t get my 2nd red sock cast on. What I did manage to do was walk downtown to get my haircut, visit the library, read, and meet Keith for drinks at the Foshay .

  • I love it in a limited colour palette like that too. Isn’t it amazing how it looks completely different to your actual one?

sounds to me like a productive day in a different sense, a recharge day!

  • I like the limited color palette… but I would use at least 20 yellows and that many or more of the of the browns… ;-)

  • I like it…..sounds like you had a nice “good for you” day. :)

  • Dawn:

I really like that one! You should make it so we can all oooooooooh and aaaaaah over it.
    hugs!!

I do like the look of that quilt. I think your day sounded great. We have to do those other fun things, too. Makes one a well rounded individual. ;)

  • Anya:

Looks cool, but I really love your scrappy one!

Love the quilt pattern though I would use difference colors if I made it. LOVE drafting up quilts in EQ … almost as addictive as actually quilting! The Foshay is a great place for “beverages”. We stayed there last Spring for an event given by my husband’s company. It’s contemporary with the “old” flavor of the hotel still intact … hard to explain but in a NON scary way it reminds me of that Jack Nicholson movie, “The Shining”. Glad you enjoyed your day … those aren’t “lost” days … I refer to those as “battery recharge” days!

  • Sounds to me like you had a pretty good day! I could live in the library!

  • I really like the look of curved lines with the limited palette. Don’t you just love all the different looks a simple block can have?

  • Sometimes we all need one of those days. They are good for us. I love the colors of your EQ drawing. What a great looking boy quilt. I can see my little ones running their little cars all over the curvy roads. :-)

  • I love that quilt. I just may have to make one…
That sounds like a much better day than working, esp the library part and meeting for drinks.

  • What about making the surrounding strips white and black? That would be fun.

  • Sounds like a great day to me :)

  • Quilting Queen:

Interesting quilt…has movement. wonder if it would have the same look as a scrappy?

  • Cyndi Holguin:

WOW when I looked at the crazy quilt you were making I loved it. and I could see this quilt in it as well. You do such wonderful work. Thank you for letting me browse you blog.

  • Love it Mary. Somewhere I saw where there was a Challenge to use Cheddar in the quilts …. they turned out really cool.

You can take a lazy day every so often … it’s good for you. Thanks for sharing.

  • Angie:

Sounds like a wonderful day Mary. Give yourself a pat on the back! Gosh, you are so productive every day–no guilt for taking a day off! It must be really fun to live within walking distance of so many interesting places.

  • It does you good to have a little break now and again. Just enjoy it and then you can start over refreshed and raring to go.

  • I had to come back a couple of times and look at the 9 patches. I finally thought of what it reminded me of–remember the “fun houses” at carnivals and the mirrors that made everything wonky? I get the same feeling when I look a the drawing! Now, it’s a GOOD feeling as I like how they look. I still have a set of 9 patches left, hmmm–they may have a setting plan! Didn’t you say you were working on the directions Mary??
