I can't go lower than a size 2.5 needle - I've snapped a few of the wooden DPN's and they just feel like toothpicks! Anytime you have to cast on more for a sock than a sweater, then there's something wrong IHMO! :-) I've tried tube socks and they are too boring for me. I set goals based on what's coming up next so I like the variety that the turned heel gives me. The longest part of the sock for me is the foot because all the fun parts are done!
