I don't normally post responses, but I got Wii Fitplus for Christmas and loved it, but I agree about the time in between activities. And I made the same decision to get Active and found it keeps moving in a nice flow from exercise to exercise. What I really like in Fit plus is the Obstacle course and I wish they would make that a whole new program with lots of levels and options.

Someone's been breaking into my house again and messing it up while I'm at work. That must be it, because when I came home Friday afternoon because of the snowstorm, my house looked like a bomb had gone off in it. I had to spend 2 to 3 hours cleaning the house just to be able to sit down and sew. It was THAT bad. Sorry the cleaning fairies aren't cleaning while you are sewing. How neglectful of them!

Hi,
Thank You for the Wii (spelling) exercise review. My daughter and I have been looking into it. She is Yoga obsessed. (wi fit).. It was nice hearing feedback from it. I of course was looking at your beautiful quilts..no interest to her, lol.

Thank You again.

You are my inspiration.

I have the Wii and I got the Biggest Loser workout. You will get a workout. I have to take things slow, so its definitly a challenge. But my son who is really a workout fiend, (yeah, I think they switched babies on us years ago, he's 24), has difficulty doing a challenging workout. Even my husband will do it. For us it was worth it.

Forgot to add for you older gals there is a program called "Silver Sneakers" through some health insurances that will pay your monthly fee at health clubs. Have the health club check it out for you.

I've exercised all my life doing all kinds of programs. Curves is a good workout but it will only take you so far. It's a great toning exercise & better then nothing. I made a committment Jan 1st to exercise 5-7 days a week for 30 minutes. To keep from getting totally bored, I do a 35 minute treadmill workout while watching TV on the days I don't do Curves. Tried doing the usual Weight Watchers diet too once again but find I can cheat on it too much so I'm trying hard to cut back on so many carbs. We all get those in way too many foods. Basically stuff that really taste good, ha, ha. I admire you Mary for exercising at home. It takes real discipline to accomplish this & it sounds like you are on a mission. Good for you!

A tip I read somewhere said using a treadmill, walking fast outdoors or running will burn belly fat which makes sense to me & in our age group that seems to be where the extra weight goes. I turn the incline up pretty high most of the time which really makes me work up a good sweat, ha.

Keep us posted on your new exercise program besides Wii.

I've noticed my house isn't getting any cleaner either. My sister has EA Sports Active and I was thinking of getting it too. I agree about the WII Fit exercises, too much time in between the routines. I wonder if you put them in your favourites, would the wait time in between be shorter. I'm going to try Biggest Loser, I heard it was good too. Actually I would like to get something like Dance, Dance Revolution. I have to check the web to see if there is something like that for the WII. Have a great day.

Now Mary -- you seem TOO organized to be worried about chores. I've never knitted but am almost convinced to give it a try watching you do it. I could do with a bright pair of red socks... And PLEASE, let's not discuss having to exercise. I just don't have the time!! LOL!!!!

I want to learn to knit too (nice not to be alone in that) I think I'd definately have to take a class, I'm hoping I'll do it this year and the more posts I see about it is encouraging. Mary, your socks are wonderful. I need to learn how to not sleep then I'd have the time.
I don't have a wii but I joined Curves some years back and I could never get a good workout there. It was just too slow and choppy for me. I was probably in better shape then anyway. I may be fine there now-I think I'm officially a slug, so sad.
And on housework...I just noticed the dust bunnies before I sat down at the computer...dang I know I dusted a couple days ago..maybe I thought that last week, time flies but not when you're cleaning.
