It’s Tuesday again
Since it’s Tuesday, on the agenda this afternoon is piecing a few string blocks and a backing. I’ve also got to start assembling the tax stuff but I think I’ll wait and do that when Keith goes to bed tonight — I slept late so I’m sure I’ll be up late.
Did I tell you all that I LOVE knitting socks? I’m almost finished this pair and I think I’ll try two at once next.

Other than a book on Drunkard’s path quilts and a three fat quarter sets, my only quilt show purchase was this antique quilt. The back is discolored from age but there’s just one spot on the front that can be strategically placed so it’s hidden. I don’t have a good place to display quilts but I hung this one over the wall on the landing for a photo.

And a closer view.

Beautiful “Tree of Life” quilt Mary. Looks good hagning where you have it. My sister uses her railing as a hanging place for her antique quilts as well.
And I love your socks!!

The socks are great…two at a time…wow.
I love the Tree of Life quilt. It’s a pattern I want to make for me someday.
Was there any information with it about who made it or where, when?
The sock yarn is gorgeous and is making a nice-looking pair of socks.
Nice find on the quilt: I am glad that it found a good home.
What a gorgeous Tree of Life quilt! The quilting on it is amazing.
The pine tree quilt is wonderful!
Great sox, Mary! The tree quilt is wonderful. Do you have any info on it? I would love to share your pic with my Quilt History group with your permission.
Mary, the quilt is spectacular…what a treasure! And I love your socks…it takes me forever to knit a pair. I finished a sock a few weeks ago and have yet to cast on its mate…
That’s a beautiful quilt find! Sometimes simple designs and colors ARE better than all of the fancy fabric that we hoard!
WOW, you are a sock knittin’ fool these days! Sure wish I could knit..tried it, can’t do it! WAH! Yours are SO PRETTY! And LOVE your quilt purchase. Nice find, beautimous quilt.
Beautiful antique quilt find! It looks lovely hanging from the landing. I agree with Greg that sometimes the simple designs and colors are better. I have this yearning to make a two color quilt. Maybe this year. Oh, Mary, your knitted socks are wonderful! Everytime I see yours I’m so tempted to try my hand at knitting. I almost bought a book on knitting socks last Saturday…I had it my hands. I just don’t know if I want to add just one more thing to my life. Like knitting. I know it’s just a matter of time before I cave into the urge, especially when I see how great your socks look! Lovely!
Beautiful quilt. Socks, I am interested to see how your two at a time sock knitting goes. I have been struggling with the two at a time thing.
What a lucky find. That is an awesome quilt! Good for you!
That quilt is just gorgeous. What a great find.
Love the antique quilt! Mary, do you have a general rule for keeping batting scraps? Now that I’m quilting a little more on my Lenni, they are piling up. I did piece a backing from scraps for my last quilt. Now I have smaller strips (anywhere from 2″ to 5″ wide and I hate to toss them, but can’t imagine piecing these. Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.
Sounds like you were very restrained with purchases at the quilt show! LOVE the quilt you bought and it looks like you DO have a brilliant place to display quilts
What a beautiful quilt. It looks great hanging on that wall. I love your knitted socks too. The color is so vibrant. Fun new hobby. Take care! Jenn
Love your antique quilt and you socks. Any time I recommend something to someone, I’m thrilled to hear that they enjoy it so I’m happy you’re having fun knitting socks.
WOW! That antique quilt is WONDERFUL!
What a beautiful quilt – I keep popping back for another look!
