I’ve been SO good today

Last night I got through a lot of the tax stuff so today was mostly devoted to sewing….but first, I had to finish up my socks.

Pair #2 – aren’t you impressed? I almost feel like a pro now.

And then I spent the day on wedding quilts….ugh, working on two big quilts when I would rather start a new quilt or cast on a new pair of socks.

I trimmed, bound, and hand stitched the binding down on one of the two so all it needs now is washing and I finished the borders on the Stars and Pinwheels for Adam. That one needs quilting and binding — the wedding is on the 27th so I can’t put it off either.

Thanks to buckling down and working hard today, I made a lot of progress and don’t feel so pressured.

  • Your socks are just fabulous. It can get quite cold here in Winter & some of those would be perfect!

  • Oooohhh the socks look toasty! Isn’t it fun? One quilt done and one almost done! Way to be a worker bee!!!

  • Yes, the socks are impressive. Also impressive is the fact that you are getting your projects finished. Feels goods when the pressure is relieved a bit, doesn’t it?

  • Buckling down is definitely worth it — I always feel better afterwards (if not during!). Your socks looks wonderful.

  • Your socks are looking good! You’ve inspired me to keep plugging away on a pair I started for my hubby ages ago.

Finished a strip quilt yesterday. Today is tax day. I need to get that out of my hair and finished, especially since March has crept up on me. April will be here before I know it!

Mary, I realize this isn’t your first part of socks but is this the first time you’ve ever knit anything? I mean before your first pair of socks did you know how to knit? Had you made anything else by knitting?

  • Diane:

great socks! I know how you feel about buckling down and getting it done-felt the same way with my t-shirt quilts-
I remember your Stars and Pinwheels quilt–hope we get to see a pic. even if we have to wait until after the wedding!

Ugh, tax stuff, how boring. Finished mine a couple of weeks ago; thank goodness THAT’s through for the year! Can’t wait to see the finished wedding quilts! I LOVE starting new quilts o:). I’m currently trying to finish up UFOs (made a list of them and all), but it’s sooooo difficult when all of these news quilts are calling to me wanting to be made – LOL! Good thing you live in a cold climate, so you can use all those gorgeous socks you’re making!

  • Great socks! You’re definitely turning into a pro! Good job on getting those wedding quilts finished. I think you’ll have plenty of time for starting a new quilt or another pair of socks :)

  • Those are beautiful socks. Almost makes me want to try to make some.

  • You’ve done good Mary! I so LOVE your socks! How fun and sassy they are. They do look professional too. Good luck on the wedding quilts. You’ll make it – you always do. Are they getting married in Georgia? At the hotel Adam works at? That would be lovely. Of course, any place in Georgia is beautiful. Have fun. Expect to see pictures of the quilts and ceremony of course. Take care. Jenn
