Tuesday is for strings
But today instead of piecing blocks I had an opportunity to speak briefly at a local guild about HeartStrings. Excuse the quality of the photo (my cell phone doesn’t have a flash). They had two stands and a table where I was able to set up the quilts so they could be seen before and during the meeting.

I pulled fabric for a backing too and I plan on getting it pieced before I go to bed tonight which will probably be very late.

I love the right hand one – the colours are fantastic.
And I bet the ladies thoroughly enjoyed your talk. All the quilts look lovely. Bet there was much oohing and arrhing going on when they saw them .
I bet all of them wanted to run home and make string blocks!
what a nice thing for you to do and share your passion for making string quilts to donate.

We enjoyed having you. I think many of the women loved the idea. I brought foundation squares and the center strip for 4 different quilts, and there are only a few packets left. This is a promising activity for us. We already support the Quilts of Valor and this is a good way to get many involved by doing just a few or in one case a lot of blocks. Thanks, Mary!
Woman, you are a machine! It’s great to see all that you do. Thank you for giving back to the world.
Ahhh…. wish you were closer to Calif, as we’d LOVE to have you speak at our guild. I really love the colors of the quilt on top of the table. I think ‘controlled’ scrappy sometimes gives the string quilts a pulled-together look that just can’t be beat. But, of course, it’s a matte of opinion. Just love the scrappy look! Thanks for sharing.
The quilts look even more beautiful spread out and hung up like that! Way to go!
Very inspiring. Have never done a string quilt…wasn’t sure I wanted to. Will have to rethink that…these are gorgeous…
How fun! I wish I could have heard you, I bet it was a fun presentation!
