I made a decision
But then I changed my mind. After all your input (THANK you very much) I decided I would go ahead with the Drunkard’s Path without borders yesterday. But then today, I realized that if I finished the blocks I had already started I had exactly enough for the version with borders so I decided I’d go with that one because it’s a little longer and it will be a bed quilt for a veteran in Maine. I also decided I’d do a borderless version in pink and purple scraps for Ronald McDonald House.
Now, you have to imagine this scrappy! I don’t often take the time to color in a design with a bunch of different fabrics, in this case I’m using one purple and one pink but I’ll use a bunch of different purples and pinks when I actually make the quilt.
This quilt will measure 55 x 68 and I’ll use my Accuquilt GO to cut the blocks — you wouldn’t believe how much quicker and easier it is to cut a quilt like this with the die — it’s why I bought my GO.
That is so cool I love it I think it will look so pretty with scrapy of those colors. I also like the one on you wall. it is coming out so cool.
I didn’t comment on the earlier post asking for feedback but I liked the one with borders because it was an interesting version. And I looove the color combination of the pink/purple, scrappy, borderless one! Such fresh colors for Spring/Summer! Looking forward to seeing both when you get them completed!
An accucut would be great to cut these out. I don’t mind sewing this block, just cutting it out!
You won’t believe how easy the blocks are to sew either. I bought that die for my GO and I love it. I’m working on a Drunkard’s Path now. I normally pin and pin and pin in order to sew. I can do it in 3 pins. I might even get daring and try it in 2 or 1. Have fun.
I really enjoy seeing the design process of your quilts. I’m sure your donated quilts have really blessed alot of people.
That’s something I do with my EQ too, I’m not patient enough to color each block either.
I am eager to see the purple and pink version. I ordered an accu-quilt go on ebay and am anxious to see how I like it. I hope I find it as helpful as you do. I got a great deal on ebay!
