Sleeping the day away

I refuse to say how late I slept today but now that Keith is going up to bed, I’ll be heading to the sewing room for a while to work on assembling more of the Lattice top.

I did manage to write and upload instructions on my MaryQuilts.com site.

I also wrote instructions for the Drunkard’s Path quilt the other day. For those of you without the GO die, I included a template but I’d be the first to say that cutting those blocks with a template would be a BIG pain! So here’s a link to Marti Mitchell templates that make anywhere from a 6 to 7 inch block. My GO makes a 7 inch finished block.

  • Many thanks for writing up the lattice quilt directions. I love that you showed many versions of it. I think I’ll do a light and dark scrappy version for the cottage.

Re Drunkards Path Template. Wondering if making freezer paper templates that can be pressed several times would speed up cutting the pieces? Seems I read somewhere that you can run freezer paper thru the printer. I have a Karen Stone New York Beauty quilt that I have been working on that uses many templates with freezer paper. I think you could stack a few layers of fabric and still get good results–maybe even holding layers together with flat-head flower pins to keep it from shifting.
By the way, picture of Caleb you posted earlier is simply adorable!!!

Thanks for writing up the instructions, Mary! It’s another great way to use up those boxes and boxes of scraps in my sewing room.

    Mary,
Thanks for writing up the instructions for the lattice top. I was just about to ask you for the location of the instructions…. Love the variations, too. These ideas for scraps are always welcome.

I’ll add my thanks for the lattice instructions. I have this on my to-do list now.
