Do you dream about the perfect house?

My current dream is to own a monopoly building. I’d like one that is 3 stories high with a store front that I could set up as a public sewing space for HeartStrings get togethers, one floor would have a quilt studio for me and one or two guest rooms, and the third floor would be living space for us. A rooftop deck with a view would be great too!

We won’t move again while we are in Minnesota but who knows maybe next move I’ll find my perfect place.

  • You can’t see enough of the building in this link but my friend owns Village Mercantile Quilt Shop in Boonville, IN. It’s in a gorgeous old 3 story building. They used to have a tea room on the third floor . . it’s such a great building. Here’s a picture just barely showing the front of the first story.

Ah that has been my dream since I was a teen. I love my ranch with my detached studio. But I know just the building I would buy there are two buildings in Belen, NM one an artist bought the other is still for sale. I always dreamt of having the first floor for quilting meetings. ( Now I would use it for my Quilts for John project.) and the second floor for my studio and the third floor for living quarters. with a wonderful view of the RailRoad Yard and the old Harvey House.

Thank you for the walk down memory lane.

  • Sounds like the perfect dream to me!!!

I dream too. Mine is a huge open loft with no walls and my studio at one end by the huge windows. Someday….

  • Robin:

You have such lofty dreams. I just want a studio and a workworking shop. The kitchen and dinningroom would be optional.

  • Terri:

I have always wanted to live over a shop in a cute small town…quilt shop, book shop, either one…of course a candy shop wouldn’t be bad either!

  • I’d like one of those ranch style homes, all on one level, with room for a studio with large windows to look out at mountains or valleys. Isn’t it nice to dream.

  • I still dream about my perfect house. This house is as close as I will get, in this life time! haha.

  • Lisa:

    Sounds wonderful!

YES! What a fun dream. The last b’friend wanted something much like that. (Maybe I should re-nurture that relationship … retirement is coming!)

  • yup, I’d want a ranch, hate stairs! But the idea of living on the top floor looking out over things—that sounds pretty good too!
