Another top quilted…more knitting
We’ve been meaning to replace the shower in our bathroom since we bought the townhouse 2 years ago. It’s an UGLY shower surround and we want to tile it so today for the 2nd time, we picked tile and scheduled the contractor to come out and get measurements. Hopefully we can get it done before I travel again in August.
Other than that, we had a quiet day at home. I loaded and quilted this top which I think is by Sue in FL. I try to keep all the donation quilts straight but sometimes they get separated from their piles when I’m searching for one to quilt. You can’t see the quilting very well but it’s a pantograph from Willow Leaf Studio called Curly Hearts.
After we cooked and ate dinner, I worked a while on my socks, I just love this yarn!
Now, I’m going up to bed to start a new book – the new one by Gerristen – Ice Cold. Has anyone else seen the TNT previews about the new show featuring the characters from Gerristen’s books?

I think, after the kitchen, having a bathroom redone is the worst job to live with. I’d be tempted to hae it done while I was away.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Tess Gerritsen!!! Enjoy the book!! And I can’t wait for the show on TNT!
I love how the current quilt looks like twinkling stars. The quilting goes with it great. I enjoy your blog. Sandy
I love how Sue did the white center strips in this string quilt! The effect is beautiful! Nice quilting Mary! I haven’t seen the previews for the Gerristen show —yet.
Looking forward to the Rizzoli & Isles show on TNT. I’m already addicted to The Closer and it starts a new season next week too! The bathroom project shouldn’t be too disruptive since you aren’t having tile removed. We had tile shower and tile floors demo’ed and it was something I would not repeat in this lifetime!!! The string quilt is very attractive…love the contrast.
Mary,
It is always fun to visit your blog…another great donation quilt. I have not seen any of these string quilts before and love the white strips which makes a star. I have to try it with my next string quilt.
Love the pattern on this quilt. Which book should I read first of Gerristen’s. Sounds like my kind of reading. Thank you.
I. LOVE. This. Quilt. Great quilt, great quilting!
Love this quilt, also…but can’t quite see how she did that with the white stars so precisely! And I can’t seem to find anyone else who did, either. Any hints or tips?
I have enjoyed your blog for years, Mary; keep up the great work!
Sorry to have rambled, it’s early a.m.! I got the white stars thing, very tricky! Love it, will try it!
Also, just read the first Rizzoli freebie-Kindle book, will be reading more Gerritsen after I finish The Passage, very good, too!
Thanks again!
What is the pattern for that quilt made by Sue in FL? I have boxes of strings (strips) and would love to make one. How did she get the white stars?
