Killing time

What do you do? Earlier I was reading while waiting for Chris but I’m not to the point in my book when I can’t put it down so….I worked up instructions for a QOV I want to make one of these days. When I get home, I’ll use EQ7 to write rotary cutting directions and then post them on my Maryquilts.com but here’s the iPad version

Tessellating Pinwheels (I’ll make this scrappy with lots of reds, whites, and blues)

Quilt without borders 40×56
Quilt size with borders is 52 x 68

8 inch finished block (8.5 with seam allowances)

Using my 4 inch finished half square triangle and 4 inch finished quarter square triangle Accuquilt Go dies

Inner border cut 2.5 inches
Outer border cut 4.5 inches

Which pinwheels do you see? The red, white, or blue ones?

  • Oooh, I can’t wait for your pdf. I have some great fabric for this one.

I see all of the pinwheels (white, blue, and even red). I don’t know what that says about my eyes or my brain. ;o)

  • Riley:

I see pinwheels that are red/white. Am I the only one who sees those?

I don’t see red ones, or blue ones, or white ones. Only the red/white ones.

  • Very pretty. Oops I see Nautical flags, maybe I need some coffee to wake up.

  • Vic:

You are making me want an iPad….;-) Nice quilt…

  • I see the blue pinwheels. I like this design:)

  • Pat:

Wow! What a neat design!!! I saw the blue ones first, then the white and as my eyes danced across the quilt I saw the red ones too. To be honest, maybe I was already looking for them after reading the post where you mentioned it was a tessallating design.
This is really going to be a neat quilt!

I can’t wait to see it in fabric. :-)

  • Flatlander (Linda):

    Blue pinwheels.

  • I really like this quilt. I am attracted to pinwheels and was trying to play around in EQ6 to get something with lots of movement. This fits the bill!
