After all these years…
I went downhill skiing one time … hated it. Something to do with being on the side of a mountain, a fear of heights, and having absolutely NO control BUT I’ve wanted to go Cross Country Skiing and never could talk Keith into it until today with the kids. I think we’ll go back for a lesson but we had a great time and it was so peaceful and beautiful on the trail.

We used to XCountry ski…so peaceful. Well, except for the sound of my heavy breathing.

Love to do cross country. But as it happens it sometimes turns into downhill on nordic skis.
Good for you Mary! Fun family sport to do with your family. Also, excellent exercise & safer then downhill skiing. Brings back a lot of memories skiing with our sons but we did downhill.
I wouldn’t even try downhill skiing even once! Cross country seems like a much better choice.

Looks like so much fun. I didn’t like downhill skiing either and I’m probably too lazy for xcountry. I’ve been reading your archived blog posts – I grew up in Norfolk, VA and have a cousin in Newport News (still there). So Merry Christmas to another VA girl!
