My Sunday plans

It’s very unusual for me to be up for the sunrise but this morning I was in my sewing room working on my new Churn Dash and Stars quilt. Watching the snow flurries as the sun rose.

We went out for breakfast and now I’m heading back upstairs to work a while. We’re expecting more snow today and while everyone else seems tired of it…I’m not!

I was thinking about making a churn dash quilt, too. Will be watching the progress on yours!

  • I really like your quilt…it will be fun to see your progress!! It is strange for you to be up early..what’s up??!

I am working on two versions of Churn Dash for my February blocks for the Modern Stash Quilting Bee. I’ve started with SewJoys tute’ on Liberated Churn Dash and I’m adding a few extra notes from my experience making them. And, I’m going to offer an option of a standard churn dash. Like yours, different fabrics for bars and triangles. Then…I will do a quilt top using both the liberated version and the standard version.

    Your blue blocks are gorgeous!

I, too, love the snow. Never get tired of it …. it’s so beautiful when it’s falling … muffling sounds, clean, crisp and rests on the boughs of evergreens. Love it!

  • I love snow too… it’s just not fun having to get out and go to work in it tho. BTW – It’s in the 70s here today!

Looking forward to watching your Churn Dash & Stars quilt come together…

  • Love the colors of your blocks!

    The snow you can keep…

  • Your churn dash blocks are lovely! I have a few customrer quilts that I need to get quilted and then I will get back to mine!

I wish it would snow here. We have only had 1 day of snow this year. I love to sew while it is snowing especially early in the morning. Lucky you. Have fun. I love the quilt idea as well love your colors.
