I really am not very good at this
You think I’d be a better quilter after 10+ years but I still struggle with these kinds of quilts. I’d like to blame it one the fact that I don’t do enough of this type of quilting but who knows if practice would make me any better.
This is a wallhanging of Mom’s and hopefully she won’t regret having me quilt it for her 
The lighting tonight isn’t the best for showing the quilting and I always find RED hard to photograph but in this case, sharing less detailed photos are probably kinder to me the quilter!
It’s hard to see but the fern quilting in the outer border did turn out nicely – I’ll definitely do that again.

How beautiful! I’m sure your mom wouldn’t mind. My mom is the quilter in our family, though I think she’d love it if we started more seriously!

I think you did a great job on the quilting! You’re just too hard on yourself sometimes. You Mom did a fabulous job on the applique.
Both the quilting and the applique top are beautiful. You should be proud. I get so stressed out trying to free motion quilt that I usually end up doing straight line quilting. I really need to practice.

I reckon you’re being too hard on yourself. The quilt is lovely, and your quilting looks to really enhance the applique.

The wall hanging is beautiful! I love it! Being a mom, I know I would not be upset at all about your quilting. I would be honored and blessed to receive something like this, or have my daughter do such beautiful quilting. It is great!
I agree Mary! It really does look lovely. I know I struggle a bit to fill in the spaces on applique so it doesn’t distract from the picture. I think your quilting adds to the picture! You and your mom are blessed to share quilting as a passion. Thanks for sharing with us.
My first thought was that you are being way too hard on yourself. If my daughter quilted that for me, I’d be in heaven!! It looks fabulous!

Applique quilts are tough but you did a great job. Sometimes we’re our own worst critics. A beautiful quilt and an equally beautiful quilting job!
There are endless choices of to what to quilt and you made a great choice! Just enjoy the finished product!
