Instead of staying home and doing chores in prep for leaving for Maine, I took off south to Cannon Falls to meet my friend and fellow HeartStrings quilter Sheree. What a great little town … We visited a yarn shop, a quilt shop, had lunch, and then sat at a picnic table near the trail to chat and knit a bit…and everything was within a short walking distance.
As usual, my basket had more than Sheree’s
I think these are the falls although they’re not very big.

Waterfalls are relative those would be huge in Florida.
Oh that is a charming little town. I remember exploring around that area once when going to Red Wing. My son was in graduate school at UM so I took advantage of opportunity to explore MPLS and St P areas when visiting him. Great area to visit!!
Whata great day out with some lovely yarny memories!
It was a FANTASTIC day! Great friend, love the town, nice shops, shade trees and visiting. CLONE IT!

P.S. The lovely purplish yarn and striped ribbon yarn in the back go together in a project. They look smashing!
Sounds like a fun day and judging from the blue, blue sky it was a pretty day, too. Glad you had fun.
A good friend, a quilt shop and a yarn shop in the same quaint little town ~ it doesn’t get any better than that. Never been there so I’ll have to see if I can persuade my hubby to stop there the next time we make a trip to MN. Glad you had a fun day!
Glad you had a fun day. My friend Karen owns the yarn shop and their new location is where my favorite of all time quilt shop(Quilts by the Falls) used to be. Beautiful building. I am obsessed with the “six packs” at the quilt shop. Bought 3 more several weeks ago….reasonably priced and all coordinated but of course I can’t leave it alone, I mix them up! Great stash builders. Did you visit the winery? We ate at the Mill St. Deli and I had the Salad Caprese Sandwich, heavenly…..
Do you have a yarnnstash at ball or do you buy for each project asbyou go?
Those would be called ‘rapids’ here in New Zealand. How fun to have a day out.
