One last Log Cabin photo

See how the promise of starting a new quilt spurs me on through my least favorite part — assembling the top. I promise, this is the last photo of this quilt for a while. The top is done and will be set aside for a while before it’s turn for quilting comes up. It will probably end up on next year’s UFO challenge list.  It looks like there’s a lot of overly dark strips right in the center but the whites in those strips are much more noticeable in person so that dark spot doesn’t jump out like it does in the photo.

If interested, you can find brief instructions for the Log Cabin quilt on my website.

    This is gorgeous!
I love how the red looks transparent, like it is sheer and has been laid over the black strips.
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful quilts.

I love this quilt – I love a lot of your quilts! I wouldn’t have thought of the black and white and red but am really glad to see it and get some great color ideas. I’m, working on your red, white and blue “Framed Rectangles” right now as a QOV and am really enjoying it. I’ve had to figure out things and it has been a really good exercise in brain activity for me. I’ll try to figure out how to send you a photo when it’s done. Thanks for all you give us!

I’m working on a QoV log cabin with stars and it needs borders to get to the correct dimensions. I figured I’d wait until the blocks were set together and figure out what would look good. I’ll adapt your layout to my measurements if you don’t mind. Thanks for sharing.

I’m wondering what you think of the log cabin die as compared to a strip die? I have the 1.5″ strip die and I’m trying to decide if the log cabin die is worth the money.
