And another one is finished
This is the first of two flannel Strips and Strings Log Cabin quilts pieced by Marsha and sent to me to finish. It’s been quilted for a couple months but I just finished the binding tonight … Already in progress is the binding on her 2nd one in blues.

I really like this log cabin. I always hesitate to use flannel with narrow strips because of the bulky seams. Was it hard to quilt?
Do you think it is okay to mix flannel with other non flannel cottons in a scrap quilt? I don’t want to collect flannels anymore…have some really nice bits and pieces leftover. Your scrap quilts really inspire.

My son would like another flannel quilt as he has gotten a bit long-legged for an earlier one. His has a fleece back so I quilted it with no batting. I know people sometimes question flannel, but his quilt has held up well and been through the wash many times (we don’t use a clothes dryer though). Cheers! Evelyn
