The House on the Hill
Another small quilt for AAQI done. I’m never sure when I start these if they will be good enough to send but this one turned out better than I expected so off it will go with the Tranquil Landscape.
Where did the weekend go?
I spent Saturday with fellow HeartStrings quilters in Roberts, WI. So much was accomplished, so much still to be done!
It’s nice to have Keith home again but I did spend some time up in the sewing room. Another small quilt for AAQI is finished and I love how this one turned out.
TAST – Chain
I’m working on binding the pineapple but also took some time to make a quick little strippie to practice stitching some words. Since last week’s stitch was a chain stitch I decided I’d start with that. Then I decided I’d stitch the lines in the narrow strip…. Still working on this and may interlace another stitch in the chain … we’ll see. I still need to do this week’s stitch too.
TAST – week ?
I’m a little lost both without having a single project to embroider as I’d wanted and a little late stitching this week but I’m continuing on. This was done Thursday not Tuesday and I haven’t finished the edges yet but I did stitch detached chain stitches this week.
So how do you like my Apple Tree? I’ve got a drawer full of felt to use up …. That’s a lot of postcards.
TAST – week 5
Herringbone – a favorite stitch of mine although I didn’t do anything very exciting with it.
On my Dresden Plate
And a look at the block so far – I still haven’t made any decisions about whether to continue on with more blocks or not. I’m debating how practical this quilt would be especially since its not in colors that I would keep for myself.
And since it took no time at all to stitch the seam I made another postcard.
TAST – week 3 & 4
I was out of town last week so I’m catching up. First, week 3 was a feather stitch
Week 4 is the Cretan stitch
There’s nothing very exciting about those two photos — and they were fairly quick to do so I finished a couple postcards while I had my embroidery things out. The perle cotton I used on the postcards was a variegated one dyed by Deb. I know I said we were done with our family postcard exchange but they make nice little projects for me to embroider so you’ll continue to see them here on the blog.
TAST – week 1
I’m following along with Sharon B’s weekly embroidery project and this week’s stitch is the Fly Stitch.
I have my first Dresden Plate block pieced and appliqued onto the background so I was ready to begin.
First, I chose just the simplest version. Not too bad…
2nd one, I tried a graduated version … kind of messy with some puckers.
So without taking those out – I tried a 2nd time — SO much better.
And just for fun — a snowflake using the same stitch on a postcard.
I debated taking out the messy line but I’m leaning toward leaving everything in – after all it’s a learning process and I’m sure there will be other less than wonderful stitches along the way.
