More organizing

I don’t know if these bins are going to function any better but for now they’re neater – remember the mess blocking my ironing board? Today, I went out and bought these open bins , sorted my strings by color, and stacked them in the corner.

I still have to figure out what to do with the bins on the ironing board. Some are project *leftovers* that I’m hesitant to toss in the new bins because I can get another project out of them – I just don’t know if I can keep them sitting around until I get back to them unless I find some other spot for them to free up the ironing board. I really miss the space I had in Marietta!

  1. I’d be happy to help you with that space problem. I have a pick-up and it’s gassed up. love the doggy costume from yesterday. really sweet and funny!Again…what mess???

  2. Are those metal mesh bins? I love them — where did you find them? I really dislike the plastic drawers — not sturdy enough and don’t hold enough — I think these bins would be so much more workable. Not sure where I’d put them though!

  3. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen those too. Look great for just that purpose too. I always wonder about fabric stuck in bags and totes because I worry that with no air it will mildew somehow. Now they look neat and orderly. Good Choice!

  4. Gosh – that is a TON of fabric you already have pre-cut into strings!!! It looks great organized by color – are they all the same width or different? And – the individual bins are a great idea – if you want to work on just 1 color you can bring it right over to your machine and work away! I like my work area to be somewhat organized.Cheers!Evelyn

  5. Great idea to sort your strings by color. I don’t have quite enough right now to justify doing that, but it’s something that I’ll have to keep in mind.

  6. I love those bins. What a neat idea. I may work into that as I need to calm my OCD occasionally!! I get so tired of the plastic with the lids to always remove. This way the fabric can breathe and you can find it!!! I can at least start with fall colors and black and white–my two most prominent color combos.
