It’s never as bad as I think it’s going to be

I’ve finished with the quilting the RWB HeartStrings top and while I’m not really happy with it, it’s not as bad as I thought. By the time it’s washed and dried I think it will look fine.

I neglected to actually measure the backing provided and managed to run short. Thanks to a post on MQResource , I was able to piece the backing with the quilt still on the longarm. Let me tell you THAT was a big help.

  1. I like that quilt. I also think your quilting pattern choice was just fine. Makes me want to rush out and cut into my RWB stash of fabric.

  2. I think it’s a great effect! BTW, I got your raffle money today and will send the ticket stubs back to you soon – as soon as I get all of the tickets filled out!

  3. I like what you did with the string blocks. Good idea! Whew!–piecing your back on the frame must have been quite a trick! I’m glad it was an option. Nice quilt!

  4. I love this one!!! Still a “string” quilt but with a totally different look. And the wavy lines are just PERFECT – like a flag waving!!! Really Mary, this type of design and quilting together is a winner.Cheers!Evelyn
