Not too pretty at this point

All the log cabin blocks are pieced and up on the design wall and I see from the photo that I need move around a couple blocks. It may not look like much at this point but I have faith that I’ll like the finished quilt.

In case you missed an earlier post – these strips and strings were pulled from my bins and are all different widths. As you can see they aren’t color coordinated either so if you don’t like scrappy quilts to begin with, this one probably looks ugly to you. Since I tend to get bored fairly easily, it’s nice to do a different block and STILL be using my leftover strips and strings!

  1. I think it’s great! The contrast is very good and the whole is wonderful. Makes me want to run upstairs and start one.

  3. I think it looks great! I can’t even see blocks that need to be moved around. Did you use lots of scraps from your bins or did the multiply while they were getting fresh air?

  4. Don’t be critical of your blocks, I think they are WONDERFUL. I absolutely adore scrap quilts! It’s going to be a great quilt!

  5. I think it is a very pretty quilt….and I am glad that you pointed out the use of different sizes of strips…..I had never thought of doing that…..chris

  6. Scrappy is my favorite so I really like your blocks. Been wanting to try log cabin blocks with strings, guess I won’t be afraid to try now.

  7. I love it! I have been cutting strips from my flannel scraps, specifically for makinga a log cabin. I bought some great cheddar flannel for the middle. I can’t wait to get started, but am making myself finish some UFOs first.
