Maybe I’m not meant to be spontaneous

I started these trees in April for Tonya’s Summer Class but hadn’t gotten around to assembling them into a top – it’s kind of disastrous! I’ve decided that I need my EQ! I’ve put the other trees away for now and I am going  to quilt this – it will be good practice.

I’m not sure whether it was my color scheme or not having a clear idea how I wanted to assemble these different size blocks that was the problem but I had LOTS of fun making the trees and I’ll revisit this process….I’ll just do a little more planning this time vs. trying to follow the guidelines and being spontaneous. Seriously, I AM a planner, I NEED to plan!

  1. I like your “unplanned” quilt, Mary … you might not think it looks good … I’m here to tell you it looks GREAT!! Enjoy the process … it’s not the destination but the journey that counts…..Flatlander (Linda)

  3. WOW!!! I often read your blog. Everytime I got a smile when I see you picture above with a glass of red wine, because I love to enjoy that too. And the wonderful quiltings you show so often on your quilts. But this quilt above is soooooo wonderful! I like it very much! Looks like christmas trees. Great! Many greetings from germanyGisela

  4. I don’t see a problem. I love the way it looks. It would make a great wall hanging. If you are not happy with this one, maybe you should try another one with more similar fabrics and see how you like it. I would not give up on this one yet. It’s great.
