String Tumblers

As requested, brief instructions are posted at my MaryQuilts.com site for this tumbler quilt. While I did cut this one with my wonderful GO cutter, it can be made using a template.
I realized as I was trying to draw the string blocks in the EQ that a stripe fabric would work in place of the string pieced blocks too.

Today’s picture is a little better and hopefully you can see how pretty the Blue Aqua fabric is — I feel like it’s my Summer vacation quilt esp. as we’re heading for Florida on Saturday and I’m anticipating lots of beach time!

  1. Thanks for the instructions, Mary! I love this quilt and using striped fabric would make it a really FAST quilt!

Have a wonderful time in Florida! I wish I was going too…summer in PA hasn't shown up yet and I'm getting a bit impatient!

  2. Hi Mary, I'm saying “hello!” from Tokyo! I do love the vibrant, exciting, wake-me-up” colours in this lovely quilt!

  3. I looked at the GO cutter at MQX but can't justify it. I don't make enough of my own quilts 🙁

Have a wonderful time in Florida. Are you going to visit Deb while you're there? Have a couple of adult beverages with umbrellas for me.

  4. Thank you Mary for the Tumbler Quilt instructions..another use for the scrappy strings that are piling up in my bin! Even better using fabrics with stripes already to go :>)!! Have a wonderful time in Florida! Like Susan said, PA is waiting for summer to be here on a daily basis…humidity and rain is what has been happening here!

  5. Another GREAT pattern ~ thanks for sharing, Mary!

I mentioned your patterns in my blog post today ~ hoping to get a few more MBB quilts done before the end of the year (they count in the Heartstrings db, too).

Have a good time in FL!

  6. I'm over on the East Coast and the weather is beautiful here as well! Hope you have a fantastic time and I really love the tumbler quilt. I might just have to try that! Thanks.
