How about more inspiration from an antique quilt found on eBay?! I posted a rail fence quilt not so long ago that had black strips on the outside of the block and that one went on my “to do” list but I LOVE the pieced strip in this one so I’m going to save this version too
And here’s a close-up.
A woven quilt! I can’t get over all those tiny rectangles sewn together for the inside strip. That is not a quilt I would ever want to make! Way too much work and too intense! I would have to be young to make one of those.
I love it, too!!! Need to figure out how to do this by strip-piecing. Have oodles and oodles of Scraps so the pieced strips would be easy to make👍. Another one on my to-do list👍☹️😊😊.
What a pretty colourful quilt this is. It must be fun to make these blocks, especially when you have a lot of scrappy strings. I am using my left overs to make tiny 4 inch log cabins, inspired by JulieKquilts. It’s so relaxing to make these blocks by hand!
This is really pretty, kind of wonky looking.
This pattern reminds me of a Basket Weave pattern. Of course, I used white, but the black gives the quilt a completely different look. Thanks for sharing
Nice! It looks like it’s made out of silk neckties.
That’s definitely a scrappy quilt. I just recently cut 350 1 1/2 in squares for an Edyta Sitar pattern. And that’s only for a very small portion of the quilt. I think I will work on something with BIG pieces for my next project. Pretty quilt though. Looks very old fashioned to me and I love that look.
I really like the pieced strips. It’s a good way to use up left over trimmings from other projects.
Great quilt! I see silks in there, I am sure. It really is luminous and a great find. I like the way it relates to modern quilting, too.
