Another goodbye

Chris and Adam lost their grandmother today and unfortunately they didn’t have a chance for a last visit. Even after my divorce my father-in-law and mother-in-law were very supportive of me and I made sure they had time with the boys. My father in law died in 2012,  the boys lost their father in 2017, and  I was very sad to hear that Barbara had taken so ill a couple days ago and died today. The boys will drive up to Virginia this weekend for her funeral.

  1. It’s hard to see your children experience sadness and loss. And even though it was the mother of your ex I’m sure you have some good memories of times past. I’m sorry for your family’s loss.

  2. Hi Mary,
It’s hard to lose that connection with the past for both you and the boys. It takes a strong woman to keep that bond alive with the in-laws, and to ensure the boys still had a relationship with their grandparents. {{Hugs}} to all of you. Happy Happy Friday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. So sad for the boys, but they did stay close and even though there wasn’t a last visit there were many others. I missed the last visit with my favorite aunt due to a problem pregnancy, but she pointed out that I kept in touch and visited her often when many of the cousins had not. Showing up when someone is dying isn’t enough, the love they have shared over the years is what they will remember over time.
