Progress

My backing is pieced and the baskets are loaded on the longarm and ready for quilting.

The inner border has been added to the Ohio Star quilt and the outer border fabric was presssed and is ready to be cut.

The magic loop hat has been cast off and just needs ends woven in.

The butterfly and nine patch blocks are up on the design wall. I’ve moved them around a little and will probably make some more changes before starting to sew them together. As I mentioned before, this one is based on one I saw on the Accuquilt site although my blocks are smaller and my butterflies are positioned differently.

  1. Really pretty Mary. I have many vintage butterflies I’ve bought off eBay but haven’t ever used. I wanted to do them by hand but never got around to it. Your quilt turn out great.

  2. So, how did you like the magic loop method for the hat? I have a goal of making 12 hats this year for the hat and mitten tree at church in December. I prefer to knit them in the round – hate having to stitch them together! I find the dpns awkward to use after using the circular needles – looking for something easier! Also – loved the color change in the one you were working on — guess it’s time for me to try that too,

  3. Such a cute quilt! You accomplish so much all the time, amazing! I need to lock myself in my sewing room to get some things done. I am working on a quilt with tiny pieces. I think that is my problem. It is taking forever. Never again!! It will be beautiful if I ever get it done though.
