Back when I was quilting these on a regular basis, I had a lot of questions about how I machine quilted them and my answers are posted here if you’re interested in more information:

I also drew up a quick reference but I lost that PDF when I had to switch my blog hosting service. Luckily, I was able to find a copy on the Internet Archives site.
Thank you. I think I’ll try on one of my small quilts first as it sure will be wonky.
Thanks. I wasn’t able to get the links to Patsy Thompson to work, but after 10 years perhaps they are gone. However, I got a lot out of the pdf you prepared and your post from 2009. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much, Mary. You are the best! Melanie
Thanks so much, Mary, for this info! I love the texture and “ old timey look” that the Baptist Fan provides. I’ve done it by hand using big stitch quilting, and am looking forward to trying it using FMQ!
Hi Mary! Thanks for sharing these links. You have inspired me to actually do these since I am a huge fan of the pattern. Next time I start quilting something – anything! – it is going to be Baptist fans. ~smile~ Roseanne
