Finished!

I was hoping I’d finish this one before the next trip and I crocheted the last stitch this afternoon! I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite so far although I have really liked the other ones too.

This was a new free pattern and I posted the link and details here. If you decide to give it a try just remember that she uses UK crochet terms which are different from US terms. She does tell you that but it’s been my experience that people miss that and wonder why their project isn’t turning out right.

This one has a slip stitch edging which I really liked.

And just look at all that beautiful texture!!!

There were fewer knots in the Caron Big Cakes I used for this blanket, just 2 in 2 and a half cakes which is better than some of the others so I guess it’s hit or miss. It didn’t stop me from ordering more yarn!

My packing is done and after I pack up Finn’s stuff for boarding, I’m going to sew some more strips and strings log cabin blocks!

  1. It’s beautiful, Mary! I love the color combination. I have a pattern for Feather and Fan, so I may try it sometimes. Still working on my ripple baby quilt. I wish I could crochet as quickly as you do! I usually do a few rows at night while watching some TV programs. So, I guess that’s why I’m not accomplishing much. Or—I’m a slow crocheter!

  2. I love your string blocks in past posts, btw. You seem to have a knack with choosing colours that mix well.
Meanwhile, this afghan is so pretty with such calming colours. I am presently crocheting Lucy at Attic 24’s Trellis Stripe afghan and enjoying it very much.
Happy Stitching from me in Ottawa, Canada.

  3. Hello Mary – Can you tell me what the dimensions of your finished afghan are, the hook size you used and the estmated yardage of yarn you used in total? Your finished product is beautiful and I LOVE the colors!

  4. i like this one a lot, too. So pretty and lacy. The border is a nice addition, too. You are so speedy!

  5. That is beautiful! Love the colors and the pattern!! Safe travels on your trip and Happy Mother’s Day!!

  6. My favorite colors, I love this. Thanks for including pattern and for telling us about the difference in crochet terms. I received my Dune yarn and her pattern and thought crochet terms were the same. Would I have been an unhappy camper!
