This was the top that I’d planned to get done yesterday before the storms rolled in but getting it quilted today gets me started on meeting August’s goals. Today I got in the sewing room earlier and finished just 15 minutes before the thunder started!

Wow! This is yet another spectacular quilt you’ve turned out, Mary! I LOVE Log Cabins (I just made 3 for Christmas presents) & Baptists Fan is my all-time favorite quilting pattern. This one is a keeper, girl!
Oh my gosh I actually caught my breath at my first look at this finish. I just think this is one of the prettiest quilts I ever saw. I’m not kidding. The fabric and piecing is great but those fans and the loft makes it a jaw dropping piece.

Mary, what is it about storms that makes you leave your sewing room? Just curious. I’m a storm-lover since childhood, and 13 years in exile in California made me even more appreciative of them than before!
That is a beautiful quilt. You did such a good job with the Baptist fans. I really like that pattern and you did a wonderful job freehanding them.
Really beautiful and the fans quilting makes it perfect! Did you use jelly rolls for this plus yardage or all yardage? I have several jelly rolls I need to use up. I know there is a log cabin pattern using jelly rolls, I just need to find it again.
