Yikes! I did it

Keith and I had an agreement that when we sold Big Canoe, I would take some of the proceeds and buy a new longarm. Right after we got the condo ready to sell, moving all our stuff out in January 2018, I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. We sold Big Canoe last July and I’ve been waffling back and forth about the longarm since then but today I finally went to try the Innova Longarm and I bought one! I’m sticking with the 18 inch throat with a 10 foot table but this one has some upgrades and features that I’m excited about especially the pantovision

I’m sure there will be some adjustments … after all, I’ve been quilting on Gammill’s since 2002 but I think I can adapt!

  1. Congratulations on the new longarm!! I own a KenQuilt which isn’t even made any longer. I did look very carefully at the Innova a few years ago. They have a very good reputation so I don’t think you will have any issues. There’s always a learning curve, but it will probably be a short one as you have had lots of experience. Enjoy your new toy.

  2. Enjoy your new machine! It looks beautiful. I still haven’t finished one quilt yet because I am afraid to quilt it on my machine. I will have to grow a spine one of these days and give it a whirl, but until my backbone forms, I will content myself by making the tops!! Congratulations on your new purchase, and blessings to you as you face and defeat the cancer. Pantovision, here you come!

  3. Congratulations! I’m excited for you and can’t wait to see/hear about your adventures on your new machine!

  4. Congratulations! I hear they are the best. I have a HQ and it’s OK now. Had a terrible time with tension and finally our repair man took it apart and there was purple thread wrapped in a place he had never seen before. Now it works good. Pantovision will be intriguing.

  5. Congratulations, Mary! How exciting. I can’t wait to hear your experiences with it. I don’t have a longarm but love to hear about it. ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. Congrats! I have an 18″ Innova. If I were to do it again, I’d make sure to get the Lightening Stitch regulator, but in general I love my machine. Enjoy!

  7. Holy moly! Just read up on the Pantovision. Was a neat idea!! I usually do “my own thing” on quilts with my HQ Avante mainly because I don’t want to go through the process of doing a pantograph. Plus, I don’t like being on the backside of the machine. That is really a great concept!! Enjoy!

  8. I believe you will love this machine. I have had my innova for 11 years. The customer service from the company has been fantastic and they are always ready to help solve any problems. Congratulations.

  9. Wow, lucky you!! I know nothing about long arms, just that I would like one. Looking forward to some blog posts on how you are liking it. Have fun!!

  10. Ooh!!! I’m so envious!!! I have never even played on a longarm so I don’t know if I could manage one at all… But to own one has always been a dream of mine… I don’t think we can buy longarms in Japan… Sad.

  11. Congrats! I bought my Innova in 2014 and have never looked back. I find it VERY user friendly. There is GREAT support by dealers and the ABM company. You are right about a learning curve, but this was my 4th different track system set up. I had very little ‘getting to know you’ issues.

  12. Congratulations Mary, and can’t think of anyone who deserves a new long arm more than you! You are so prolific and such a wonderful quilter! Can’t wait to see your new Innova set up.
