We’ve made our preparations other than moving some outdoor furniture but it looks like we’re going to be lucky… of course we’ll continue to monitor the storm because the track can (and does change)! From the most recent graphic it appears they think that Dorion will stay close to the east coast after coming ashore rather than heading inland as we initially thought. I’m sure we’ll still get some wind and rain but hopefully less than we expected.
I appreciate comments and emails expressing concern for us. We’re also concerned about family in the Ft Lauderdale area and everyone else on the east coast of Florida and are hoping there is minimal damage and that people stay safe.
Storm prep and readiness is a part of life in FL. Living in Inverness, Citrus County, we too took precautions. The entire East Coast of the US will take a heavy hit. Glad that our daughter will be leaving Jax Beach to stay here, and praying that her home doesn’t have too much damage. And now, time to quilt. Have a safe weekend/week/

I hope you and your family remain safe during the storm. I’m hoping it diminishes and turns back towards the east. It seems early for hurricane season? and for a category 3/4. Our Calif. nightmare is fire season.
Happy to hear you’re prepared for the storm. I just heard on the news that it is not expected to hit Florida now. But since it seems to change course as it feels like it, best to be prepared. Love your cubbies! Great way to keep things organized and not hidden away and forgotten about. And your newest afghan is beautiful!! I have not yet started a new afghan project. I am trying to stay focused on sewing right now. Take care!!
Years ago I lived in Sarasota and had to evacuate to a local school. Thankfully it was a lot of wind and not much rain. I hope you will be safe and those you know.
Been thinking about you. I heard from family in Jacksonville this afternoon and they said everything is “locked down” and they are as ready as can be. Guess that is all you can do.
I sure was thinking about y’all when I saw some of the tracks of Dorian, but looks like you dodged a bullet this time around. I’m so glad! But I’m keeping all those not so fortunate in my thoughts & prayers.
Don’t you know the number one rule of hurricanes is don’t trust the track? There have been storms that reversed themselves or turned earlier or later than expected, but new tracking methodology never shows backtracks or the last minute veers. I am ready and will watch that storm until it is a tropical depression in cold water.
