Boring!

It’s the weekend and we’re kind of boring! Because Keith travels so much, our weekends are usually spent here around the house with a little exercise thrown in. I haven’t been walking in the heat but I do try to get my bike rides in on the weekends. We’re lucky to have such a pretty place to ride. I need to try to get out some during the week too but hopefully it will cool down soon and I’ll be able to walk too. I told Keith today that I miss being able to walk to dinner.

I’m in that terrible cycle where I’m not sleeping at night so I’m pretty useless in the mornings but I am getting a little piecing (and crochet) done at night after Keith goes to bed. The HST diamonds are made and ready to be assembled. It will get a simple framing border with the blue fabric hanging on the right side of the design wall.

  1. Ooh, Mary, I REALLY like this one!! What size are those 1/2 square triangles again? That certainly went together quickly👍👍. Looks like a Batik background. And just some brights for the color? Or are there some Batiks in there as well? Will have to think about this for a donation quilt!!

  2. I hear ya re the sleep thing. Lately I’ve been like a baby in that I have my days & nights mixed up. Ick! But good for getting sewing done without a lot of interruptions. Speaking of sewing, are you ready for a really awful kind of pun? Those diamonds in your quilt make it a real gem. I know… G-R-O-A-N. But I do love that little quilt. The border really is a nice frame for it. WTG!

  3. Really pretty quilt and the border is perfect. I hate it when I don’t get at least 7 hours of sleep. I hope you start sleeping good again soon. And you’re not alone with a boring lifestyle. I’ve been going through old pictures and sorting them, takes so much time.

  4. Good Morning Mary! This sure went together quickly, and that blue border really pulls out the blue shades in the HSTs. Soon you’ll have your new longarm to enjoy and test out some quilting. I’m sorry you aren’t sleeping. I go through periods of that myself which is quite tiring, literally, for work. I how your no-sleep-stage passes quickly. ~smile~ Roseanne

  5. That quilt will be wonderful. Love those colors.

  6. That has turned out beautiful and love the blue border. There must be something in the air, all over. I have not been sleeping well either and that is usually not a problem for me. It makes it hard to get motivated during the day. I actually love lazy weekends though,

  7. This design has been on my list for months. I really need something easy right now, as I recover from knee surgery. I can probably pull everything from my stash to boot! Beautiful job, Mary.👏👏👏
