Still retreating…

Thanks for the input regarding the border for the hourglass quilt but when I walked in the room yesterday morning and looked at the design wall, it told me that it didn’t want a border so it was back to my original plan and now all the blocks are made and I’m sewing them together. I love quilts without borders – especially scrap quilts!

I finished the ripple afghan last night rather than start my binding so I’m working on that now until it’s time to watch some hockey! We’re going to meet some friends at a local sports bar and root for the Lightning!

  1. Great choice on no borders! I think they distract from this type of quilt. Maybe it because this seems more classic.

Enjoy the hockey game and your friends.

  2. Great choice! It’s a busy quilt and doesn’t need a colorful border. The binding will act as a thin border anyway. Your retreat plans sound wonderful to me.

  3. I can’t wait to see it all sewn & quilted! Your quilts say “no borders” & mine scream bloody murder if they don’t have a border… LOL! I’m gonna get “brave” in 2020 & try one your way!

  4. You’re right… no borders is the way to go. And you know, I don’t think I’ve ever made a borderless quilt!
