It arrived in the mail yesterday on what would have been his 90th birthday had he not died 31 years ago today. I think of him often but this time of year with the holidays, his birthday, and the anniversary of his death all falling within a couple weeks, is especially poignant.
What a beautiful remembrance!
My dad died Dec. 27th – he would have been 90 in March. Thankfully, he was ready to die – he missed mom, and he knew where he’d spend eternity!
My dad died mid-January 42 years ago at 58 years old. HIs birthday was Dec. 21. My grandfather’s birthday was Dec. 12 and he died Dec. 21. I get what you said.

A very cool gift in so many ways. An image of your father drawn by your son as a way to honor your love for your father. Priceless.
What a wonderful gift!! And wonderful son for thinking of him and you at this time of year. My Dad passed away in November 10 yrs ago and my mother 3 yrs ago. I miss both of them everyday but especially this time of year. They always spent the holidays with us and I miss that so much.
It’s a very thoughtful gift. The holidays are hard on us, even when many years have gone by since a loved one passed. My father died on New Year’s Day. It seems the older I get the more I think of him.
