Quilted

I’m glad I was ahead of schedule because this week is flying by and I haven’t accomplished much of what I wanted to. Progress is being made on the crochet blanket, and on the HeartStrings blocks. I’ve got a couple bags of clothes and shoes for Keith to take over to the Salvation Army and a few drawers are a bit neater so the organizing and decluttering is continuing at a slow pace BUT I’m happy to be making any progress with that project!

I did load the Bento box top last night and got it quilted today. I thought I might get two quilted this week but that’s not going to happen. Pantograph is Steam. It’s scaled up a bit as I’m trying to get used to quilting larger curves on the new machine before I tackle a couple new pantographs. I’m still adjusting to the extra weight of the machine and quilting pantographs from the front and the larger curves take more control (requiring more practice!)

  1. Lovely. I do like a brown/red/cream combo.

  2. Congratulations on the decluttering progress. So many people get overwhelmed and just give up. I’m trying to stay ahead of clutter with the one in/one out rule. I’ve been successful for over a year and will keep working on it.

  3. Your Bento looks wonderful.
I am slowly and gently decluttering along with you. Putting myself on a No Buy Anything plan is helping stop the inflow. I bypassed a lot of very pretty bargains yesterday while gift shopping at the mall. Baby steps!

    1. Good for you! My house doesn’t look bad but the closets and drawers and shelves are full and I’m tired of trying to find a place for everything! I don’t expect any drastic changes in my behavior but neater storage areas will be nice. Of course, the sewing room will probably always look somewhat messy…

My sewing time is pretty limited for the rest of the month but I’ve got a few days after Chris leaves before Adam visits that I’m going to try to finish up a couple more things!

  4. Very lovely! I’m anxious to collect enough of these blocks for a Quilt of Valor our guild is working on. We only have about 10 right now, but some ladies are working on more. I’m feeling very similar about closets right now – too full and messy. But since my hours of work have increased I just can’t seem to make the time to clean any of them out. Maybe after New Years.
