A couple finishes

  • Pattern – Easy Ripple Afghan – found free on Ravelry
  • Yarn – Caron Cotton Cakes – 2 balls
  • Hook size – G
  • Chained 130
  • Pattern – Blanket Stitch Afghan, found free on Ravelry
  • Yarn – Caron Simply Soft Brites – colorway Berry Blue – 4 skeins
  • Hook size – I
  • Chained 120

I like the texture this stitch creates and it was certainly easy to make but it’s a little bulky for me in a baby blanket. Next time I’ll try a sport weight (vs worsted) yarn and see if I like that better.

Chris and Rae are coming this weekend for the Gasparilla children’s parade so I pulled out all the baby and small child size afghans for him to take back and donate for me. I had planned to send him back with some quilts too but I didn’t get them washed so those will have to wait for the next visit.

  1. They are very pretty and look so cuddly! You are a wonderful person and will make many children and babies happy.

  2. Both are pretty but that blue is just gorgeous! I’m guessing the agency he takes these too will be very excited to receive so many pretty and cozy afghans.

  3. I’ll check out that blanket stitch pattern. I have a new baby due to arrive at the end of March. Do you block yours? I never have but I know a lot of crocheter so.

    Have a great weekend.
    xx, Carol
