February’s precut

Stephanie has chosen Charm Squares for February’s precut. I did 3 Charm Square quilts last year and have two UFOs from Charm Squares waiting for quilting. If I hadn’t just finished the Chandelier top, I’d think about making another one those. I love how this top turned out and I guess I’ll put it on the list for quilting in February.

The other one waiting for quilting is this Happy Block quilt – the centers are charm squares and then I chose two framing fabrics from stash. This one will also go on the list for quilting in February.

I’m debating between a couple ideas for my February Charm Square top but I haven’t decided for sure yet what I’m going to make. In the meantime, this week I need to get the last two tops from Maine quilted and start assembling those Map blocks!

Are playing along with your precuts? What is your favorite charm squares pattern?!

  1. I’ve just done a Chandelier block quilt and a framed charms one as well! One of my favourite charm quilt patterns is one called Falling Charms – it’s on the Missouri Star site, and it’s quick and easy!

  2. Hi Mary! I sure do like your Chandelier quilt. All those fabrics look so pleasing and happy, as does your Happy Block quilt. I like the variety that a charm pack offers but I’m not thrilled with the less than accurate cutting size they provide. I still use them though – sometimes I trim them to a consistent size. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. My ”Go To” pattern with charm squares is a disappearing 4 patch or 9 patch. I am always pleased with the variety of interest in such a simple pattern. Oh my!, Your Chandelier quilt! I definitely need to sew one of these, and soon. I have been asked to make several baby quilts, and this pattern will fit the parents to be. Have a great week. D. Weeks

  4. Yay! I love Charm Squares & am doing a mystery with them right now. My favorite charm pattern is one I made last year called “2 Charm packs, 1 yard, plus…” by Moda. It’s quick, easy & CUTE! ! I love both of your charm quilts, Mary… that “Beads” is fabulous & the “Modified Log Cabin” is one of my go-to’s.

  5. Glad to see your Chandelier quilt pic, I’m been staring at my blocks trying to decide how to finish them. I now have a plan! Thsnks Mary!
